  • Young Adult Women’s Ministries Advisory Team

The recently-formed young adult women’s ministries advisory team serves with our young adult women’s ministries coordinator to envision AB Women’s Ministries outreach and support for young adult women. Women interested in volunteering their gifts and skills by serving on the YAWMAT should complete the YAWMAT application form.

The Rev. Yana J. C. Pagán teaches as an adjunct faculty member at Ivy Tech Community College of Central Indiana. Yana is a Judson Press author, has written Sunday school curriculum for Judson Journeys, and was a contributing author for AB Women’s Ministries resource, Hope in the Midst of Depression. She was the speaker at ABWM’s Intergenerational Retreat held at Green Lake, Wisconsin, in 2014. Yana is a consultant for conflict transformation training. Focusing on topics of living with the reality of disability, effects of stress, self-care, trust, living an authentic life, justice, and empowerment, Yana has a desire to work with women and young people, sharing her story and giving them hope.

Jessica Lóren Jenkins is a 27-year-old native of Philadelphia, PA currently residing in the Nashville, Tennessee area. With an undergraduate degree in Health Services Administration, she has had several years of experience in the healthcare field. However, a change of direction came once she got the opportunity to pursue a seminary degree. She is currently enrolled as a full-time student at Central Baptist Theological Seminary and will graduate this May 2018 with her Masters of Divinity degree. Jessica believed that she might be leaving healthcare behind but quickly discovered that would not be the case. After school, she is seeking to take part in CPE (clinical pastoral education) training to become a hospice chaplain. Jessica adores time spent with her family, writing, and laughing a lot. Being outdoors is something that she greatly enjoys, as well as traveling. In the last two years, she has been to both Thailand and Israel and is pondering where her adventures will take her in 2019.

Jami Robertson lives in Middletown, Ohio, with her husband, Scott, and three children, Jacob (age 9), Chase (age 9), and Karlee (age 3). Jami is helping to start a MOPS group in her congregation; MOPS is for any mothers with children 18 and younger, and is offered in the evening for working moms to be able to attend as well. Jami sings with the praise and worship team at church and participates in the American Baptist Women’s Ministries in her church and region. Jami also enjoys swimming, biking, art, and writing. Jami’s goal for AB Women’s Ministries and young adult women is to be able to serve the Lord, carry out the message of Christ’s love for all, and weave old and new traditions of AB Women’s Ministries together, She want AB Women’s Ministries to be seen as one whole group of united women of many generations and diverse backgrounds working and loving each other for the cause of Christ and his mission.
