Taste and See Program from ABWM NYS Aug 2015

Download the program bulletin and scavenger hunt materials from this fun event held for the MidHudson/Union and Southern New York associations of AB Women's Ministries of New York State in August, 2015, shared by Joann Strauss. Combining material from two of the ministry experiences based on the Parable of the Good Samaritan in the 2015-2017 ministry focus resource, "See . . .," this program included meaningful Bible study, good food, and lots of fun. Use it as inspiration for your own event on the theme!

    Some other suggestions:

The program included four women alternating reading Luke 10:29-34 from three versions of the Bible: The New Revised Standard Version, The Living Bible, and The Message. Following the reading, participants were invited to reflect upon the following:
    • Your neighbor is often the person in your path. How can you drop your own agenda and love the person in your path today?
    • Discomfort cannot be the reason we choose to cross the street (or avoid Samaraia).
    • God gave you a gift of 86,400 seconds today. Have you used one to say, "Thank you?"
Some of the Hymns and Praise Songs used during the day were "This Is My Father's World," "Open My Eyes and Let Me See," "Take My LIfe and Let It Be," "We Have Come into His House," "Awesome God," "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands," "Holy Ground," "Open Our Eyes, Lord."
