In Their Shoes: Immigrants and Refugees
Women from all over the world are now living, working, and raising families in our communities. Some of them have come to the United States as refugees, some as immigrants, others are living here in the shadows. As the Bible tells us, “Do not oppress the foreigners living among you. You know what it is like to be a foreigner. Remember your own experience in the land of Egypt,” (Exodus 23:9, NLT). With the faith memory of the Exodus planted deep in our hearts, God calls us to reach out and build community with the new people in our midst, because in Christ there are no boundaries (Galatians 3:28).

In these pages you will find Bible studies, program session plans, activities for children, recommended resources for your further study, and many other ways for you to begin to reach out to the immigrants and refugees in your communities. Use this study in your personal reflection time or, even better, use it in a group setting. Discern how God is calling you to act for the betterment of women everywhere.
